Costa Brava

The Costa Brava is a 160-kilometre stretch of beautiful, rugged coastline in the northeast region of Catalonia, Spain.

The Costa stretches from Blanes, north of Barcelona, to the French border.

Costa is the Catalan and Spanish word for 'coast', and Brava means 'rugged' or 'wild'.

Barcelona the 2nd largest city in Spain is the regional capital of this area.

If you travel to the Costa Brava region, expect to hear two different official languages; Catalan, which is generally spoken in all of Catalonia, and Castillian Spanish.
